Houbara Bustards
As
the author discussed, “The birds are endangered North African houbara bustards
(Todorova, V. 2011) However, the Abu Dhabi – Based International Fund for Houbara
Conservation was created in 1995 to prevent the houbara becoming extinct. The
effort through breeding, for
example, in Morocco by in-vitro fertilization ensures that Houbara bustards are
increasing with genetically strong population. Also breeding facilities were built
in UAE, China and Kazakhstan is build a
result the Emirates Center for wildlife propagation has produced more than
60000 houbara birds between 1995 and last year.
Houbara
bustards are kept in cages and they release them after the hunting season. However,
a center supported by the UAE government in Morocco was created in 2006 has
ambitions plans for the future expanding with efforts to 15000 birds per season.
